Linux- 5 reasons to get a Linux Desktop

After speaking with several Apple Mac users. I am still confuse as to why so many people pay Apple 1100.00 and up for a laptop/desktop. Apple is running a flavor of Unix just as Linux. So the Operating Systems are very comparable in terms of the OS. You can easily find alternative software packages for your every day needs. Below are my top 5 reasons to go with Linux over Apple
1) Number one being the cost to obtain a linux system. You can obtain a Linux machine for 50% less than the cost of Apple cheapest system.
2) Malware and virus free. There are some rootkits out there that can cause a problem for both Apple and Linux. When you compare this to our Windows Partners. Its well worth getting Linux over Windows.
3) Daily updates if you are using a well supported distribution such as Fedora, Debian and Ubuntu to name a few. I personal use Vsido which is running Debian Sid ( development ) version.
4) Better memory management compared to Windows . Currently my system is only using 624mb out of 3.5 GB
