MS Outlook You cannot delete this Outlook data file

If a data file becomes corrupt and you will need to create a new one. You will first need to set the new data file as default and attempt to remove the old data file. *please make a backup of the existing data file(PST) prior to removing it.
You may encounter the following error “You cannot delete this Outlook data file. Configuration information is being copied to your new data default file. You can delete the file after this information is copied.”
This error can be corrected by going into the mail account settings screen. Then change the location to where message will be delivered. Make sure this location is set to the new data file. Then you will be able to remove the old data file.
