Windows: Visual C++ Runtimes Won’t Install?

If you are attempting to install Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable SP1 and the install just disappears . You may have a hard time finding as solution online because the solution seems to be very simple.
This occurred on windows vista and windows 7 . The install closes after gathering information. This is due because the package may already be installed on the system. check under programs and features in the control panel. I would recommend uninstalling any versions of it . then reinstall it
