Error :
“Error 1309. Error reading from file”

Go to ‘www.microsoft.com’ (http://www.microsoft.com) and do a search
for “LISTool.exe” – alternatively you can go here:
http://tinyurl.com/5y6nc

This will take you to the download page for MS’ “Local Installation
Source Tool”. The problem Spirited 1 ran into is known issue by MS.
Basically, the LIS Tool will allow you to do fun things with the Local
Installation Source on computers running Microsoft Office 2003. Like
“Delete and Disable LIS”

Once you download and run the tool, choose to “Delete and Disable LIS”.
If you run it through the GUI, you’ll get an error when it’s done.
Don’t worry – that’s normal (seriously).

After that, you should be able to whatever it was you were trying to
do. In my case, I was trying to install Office 2007 and keep some of
the Office 2003 programs.
